Donna Jackson, also known as "the id mom" and "Miss Donna", is the long-time office manager of Id Software. She was hired onto the company during the production of Wolfenstein 3-D when the id Software employees found themselves in need of someone to keep their workspace functional while they focused on game development.

According to David Kushner, she had her job cut out for her as "office destruction" became a sport amongst Adrian Carmack, Kevin Cloud, and John Romero.[1]

Despite being hired on for facilities maintenance and household-chore-like work, Donna has acquired experience in game design and testing during her tenure at the company. Perhaps ironically, she is, as of 2014, one of the longest lasting employees at id.

Trivia[]

The theme for E3M2: Slough of Despair from Doom "Donna to the Rescue" was named after Donna, as many themes from the games were named in honor of id Software employees.
