Cause of death[]

Yesterday, an anonymous user deleted the cause of death from this article; I reverted it, because I checked the references given and the stated cause proved to be accurate, but I suspect that the deletion was a good-faith edit done because the article seemed disrespectful.

According to the sources, Kim did indeed die of a drug overdose, but this doesn't mean that he was a stoner as some might assume; he actually suffered from depression, like me but far worse, and his death was a result of a tragic miscalculation with prescribed medication. The article should to my mind be reworded to more accurately reflect this, and remove the potential false impression it might give some people. -- RobertATfm (talk) 13:30, August 10, 2012 (UTC)

The same IP editor has removed all doubt as to his motivation, by doing the same deletion as before, and this time also removing one of the references and the defaultsort tag. Since the latter act in particular is clearly one of vandalism (the only valid reason for deleting a defaultsort tag is if it's somehow wrong, i.e. wrong names, wrong order or not a People article), I've reverted the edit and blocked the editor. -- RobertATfm (talk) 18:35, August 10, 2012 (UTC)
Doom2.net has changed its info, cause of death is unverified, please dont revert.Skogmannen (talk) 23:43, August 15, 2012 (UTC)
I haven't reverted, but I have instead added a revised cause of death based on (and quoting) the current version of the memorial page. This to my mind is better than just leaving a blank, and is more respectful and less misleading than the original version. -- RobertATfm (talk) 09:33, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
On behalf of Kims friends I will express that we appreciate very much that it was possible to revise this! Ironically, the anonymous user which deleted the cause of death in the first place was Andy Johnsen, Kims friend and founder of Alien Vendetta and the person which started the Eulogy thread on Doomworld forums. Robert, having this information, you could consider reverting the block of his IP-addresss. Anyway, I assure you that we in the future will look humorously back at this. (We may include an easter egg refering to this episode if we complete and release the zdoom city of Kim).

The fact remains that Andy should not have removed the defaultsort tag, as that made his action look like a vandal edit; that's why I imposed the block, which I have now removed. Anyway, I'm glad this has been cleared up. -- RobertATfm (talk) 21:41, August 16, 2012 (UTC)
