Good idea.  :>   Rereading AAK's text file, however, I see that I mangled the original bug report in my edit.  He says that monsters sometimes revert to normal speed when solo savegames are reloaded in NM (and that the first reload determines whether or not it will happen on every other reload of the same file), which is an extra problem on top of the deficiencies described here.   Ryan W 20:17, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

Also, do you know if this problem is related (in the code) to the quirks of idclev involving these same command line options?    Ryan W 20:57, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm.  According to a forum thread on Doomworld, this problem is more complex than described here, and may even cause crashes at times: "vanilla DooM/Doom 2's -fast parameter is screwed - if you warp into a map then don't start a new game, then when you first load a savegame in, the demons move instantly in front of you and the game crashes. If you warp to a map and then start a new game, the monsters lose their rapid fire rate but it will only crash if you quit the game, go back in and load a savegame. (you can save and load as normal as long as you don't quit)"    Ryan W 23:10, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
