"Six buildings on Deimos are of actual human UAC origin (Levels 2 through 7), versus eight on the Phobos base (all but Phobos Anomaly)." Can we see a source for this? It sounds like it has no basis. 22:13, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

US$0.02:  Conceivably it could have been inferred from the number of pentagrams, marble textures, skull decorations, etc., as compared to the first episode or some PWADs of the "only recently infested" sort.  But you're right, an explanation would help, and even then we would have to decide if the plot part was too much of an extrapolation (and therefore "bad original research").  Contrast with Knee-Deep in the Dead, which contains the non-quantified but apparently uncontroversial statement "the levels have a unique graphical style characterized by extensive use of STAR textures, large amounts of highly saturated brown and green in general, and a misty, mountainous skyline."    Ryan W 01:43, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
I wouldn't say the anomalies on Phobos and Deimos weren't of UAC origin. The UAC built teleporters and tested them to transport people between Phobos and Deimos... And their test subjects arrived on the other side dead, insane (zombified), or not at all. That's exactly what the big teleporter at the end of E1M8 does to the DoomGuy, except that he somehow survived the trip. While Doom 3 retold the story to add Martian civilizations and mysterious ruins and all that stuff, Doom's story initially contained no such thing. The anomalies are the UAC gateways, except the demons have taken over them. 17:07, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
